IKI Hub Indonesia
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) is an important part of the German government’s international climate finance commitment since 2008 that has been contributing to the protection of the climate and biodiversity by fulfilling its international obligations within the international community.
As part of the IKI’s priority countries, Indonesia hosts 48 IKI projects, comprising 26 projects in Mitigation, 1 project in Adaptation, 6 projects in Natural Carbon Sinks, and 15 projects in Biodiversity. (as of September 2024).

Germany-Indonesia Bilateral Partnership: BMWK and IKI High Delegation Visits to IKI Projects in Indonesia
From August 15-21, 2024, a high-level delegation from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) visited Indonesia to engage in bilateral discussions and visit some International Climate Initiative (IKI) projects in Indonesia.
Synergizing Towards a Green Hydrogen Future in Indonesia
The ExploRE project implemented through GIZ has facilitated a synergized collaboration among different government stakeholders, which resulted in a strong buy-in from the MEMR. GIZ and MEMR are currently jointly preparing for academic transcript drafting on green hydrogen development, as a required process before the issuance of a PP.

IKI Roundtable Discussion: Perspective and Trends on the Climate Change And Biodiversity Sectors After COP28 in Indonesia
On 6 February 2024, the IKI Hub invited around 50 organisations implementing project funded to a round-table discussion on the perspectives of future trends in the sectors of climate change, biodiversity, and other relevant environmental issues, that will be of relevance for their future work.
IKI Mini Round-Table Exchange: IKI’s Contribution To Indonesia’s Ndc
This exchange was held on June 24 2024, aimed to identify IKI project’s direct and indirect contributions to Indonesia’s NDC, facilitate comprehensive exchange and coordination among IKI project implementers, and ensure alignment to maximise the impact of IKI support for the Indonesian government’s NDC efforts.
IKI Roundtable Exchange with BMWK and IKI Projects Implementers
The event on August 16 2024 featured a round-table discussion with representatives from BMWK, ZUG (IKI Office), and 23 of the 47 active IKI projects in Indonesia. The session focused on project progress, challenges, and future collaboration of IKI projects in Indonesia.
